Safety Tips

Your safety and your children's safety is our top priority. Follow these essential guidelines before hiring any caregiver.

Interview in person

Never hire a caregiver without an in-person interview first. Meet the person, observe how they interact with your children, and trust your instincts.

Verify references personally

Contact the provided references directly. Ask about reliability, punctuality, how they handle difficult situations, and whether they would hire this person again.

Run a background check

Request a criminal background check if available in your jurisdiction. Some states offer this service for free or a modest fee.

Trial with supervision

For the first time, consider hiring the caregiver while you are at home (working from another room) or for a short period while you run nearby errands.

Share limited information

Do not share sensitive personal details (social security numbers, banking information, exact schedules for extended absences) until you have established a trusting relationship.

Get it in writing

Document expectations: rate, schedule, responsibilities, house rules, and emergency protocols. A simple written agreement prevents misunderstandings.

Need to report an issue?

If you experience suspicious or inappropriate behavior from a caregiver on the platform, report it immediately through the support panel in your dashboard.
